We Believe "The Good Life" Is Attainable for All

About Us

Why the LEL Foundation?

In communities across the country, conversations about disability inclusion are increasingly focused not only on access, but on belonging. This includes whether individuals with disabilities are truly able to participate in “the good life” without barriers, explanation, or limitation. The LEL Foundation, headquartered in Indianapolis, is a purpose-driven organization committed to advancing that vision in tangible, innovative ways. As a nonprofit founded in 2021 and member company of LEL Enterprises, the Foundation was created to expand opportunities for individuals with disabilities and the elderly by addressing long-standing social, physical, and attitudinal barriers that limit inclusion.

Our mission

The LEL Foundation’s mission seeks to create and support a world where those with disabilities (to include physical, intellectual, and developmental as well as the elderly) have the “Good Things in Life” without explanation that includes equitable access to the pursuit of quality of life by empowering individuals with disabilities and their families. Drawing on frameworks such as Social Role Valorization, the Foundation works to confront both conscious and unconscious bias while promoting valued social roles for individuals who are too often excluded or underestimated.
